Hematology and Medical Oncology Division Faculty

Hematology Oncology has a history of:

  • Participating in Metro Minnesota Community Oncology Research Consortium (MMCORC) giving patients access to 100s of National Cancer Institute (NCI) trials
  • Providing the finest care in our Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is QOPI, NABPC, and CoC nationally accredited
  • Training fellows from the University of Minnesota for decades
Clinical Care

Clinical Care

We treat patients from all over the world with all types of benign hematology, malignant hematology, and oncology diagnoses. In addition to our Comprehensive Cancer Center, we also manage inpatients. We work closely with our surgery, radiology, and pathology colleagues a tumor conferences multiple times per week. We also participate in hematology oncology conferences at the University of Minnesota.

Education & Training

We have two University of Minnesota fellows per month rotate with us in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We also work with internal medicine residents and medical students on the inpatient oncology consult services.

Research

Research

We have a full-time clinical trials nurse in our cancer center to help us enroll patients in 100s of NCI trials through MMCORC. We also are well connected with the University of Minnesota and can send patients to the University for trials, including phase 1 and 2 trials.

Currently, our division is made of 6 physicians and 5 advanced practice practitioners.  Our entire cancer center has nearly 100 employees, some of whom have worked at Hennepin for decades to provide outstanding patient care, teach, and support research.

I have worked at Hennepin Healthcare in the Comprehensive Cancer Center since 2012. Since that time I have started and now manage our Cancer Survivorship program specializing in the long-term care of those affected by cancer.   

I believe in holistic health care and addressing the physical, emotional, and practical concerns of each person. My philosophy of care involves empowering patients and their families to take an active role in their health and recovery.
